21 Weeks

Hi Everyone! It's been a couple weeks since my last post! Sorry for the delay! Once we found out it is a "he" we've been so excited and I've been going a little nuts at the baby stores. So what's going on this week? Well... I am officially over the hump. At 21 weeks, there are only 19 more weeks to go! The mere thought of having this little baby in 19 weeks... 4 1/2 months.... is CRAZY/EXCITING/SCARY/ETC.
So you might be asking yourself a few questions.
1. What does Carter look like right now?
Answer... A little something like this, but with baby boy parts:
2. How are we decorating the room?
The room is painted a very friendly soft yellow. We have already picked out our crib bedding ( don't worry, there will be plenty of other stuff we need on our registry). Here is a picture of what the crib bedding will look like in case you are interested... and of course you are :)

3. Why haven't you sent us pictures of your cute baby bump?
Well.. the answer to this one is simple. I don't really have one. Carter is in there and it growing just like he should be.. however... I just haven't developed that typical basketball bump just yet. Ron assures me that i'll wake up one day and POOF.. i'll have the bump. As soon as that bump appears, I promise you...I will take tons of cute pictures.

Thanks for checking in this week! Hope you are all doing well!

IT'S A BOY!!

Well, there is absolutley no hiding the fact that the child I am carrying is indeed a little boy! I've known all along that we were having a little guy, but now we have the proof! Ron and I are thrilled beyond words!
Unless some earth shattering idea comes to me, this little boy will be
Carter Dean Crisco.
So, let the craziness begin! By craziness, I mean preparing the baby's room and hitting up Concord Mills this weekend to get Carter some adorable things!

Las Vegas

Hi All!
Well Ron and I had a wonderful trip out to las Vegas this past weekend. Amongst our activities were a trip to the Hoover Dam, hotel hopping, roulette & black jack, a Kenny Wayne Shephard concert, and of course the Shelby 427 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Duke played on Saturday and wouldn't you know it... just because we are on vacation doesn't mean we don't find a nice comfy place to watch the game.
Ron was a wonderful companion! Needless to say, pregnancy & Vegas aren't exactly a match made in heaven. All the walking made me very tired, but Ron was a trooper and was always making sure I had everything I needed! We had a great time at the race on Sunday. Thanks to Ron, we scored some pretty nifty Pit Hot Passes so we were able to watch the whole race from the inside! I've included a link to pictures so I hope you all enjoy them!

17th week update

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, the baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

This week, Ron and I head off to Las Vegas. It is a 4 hour flight and I know I will be getting up out of my seat many times to stretch my legs. I'll probably wear the carpet thin between my seat and the lavatory. We leave on Thursday and head back on Monday. Pray we have a fun and safe trip! I know the baby is excited about all the lovely food that is coming it's way :)

There is another doctor appt. tomorrow, but what I am really looking forward to is March 13. We will have another ultrasound on March 13 and Ron and I will finally know if we will have a little boy or a little girl! I can't wait!

Help Me Raise $$ For the Muscular Dystrophy Association

Hi Everyone.
I know this is not an entry directly related to the new Crisco baby, however it is a great avenue for me to help get the word out about Muscular Dystrophy. This is the first time I have ever gotten involved with something like this, so I don't want to completly suck at it.

If you are so inclined, please highlight/copy/and paste the address below into your browser

https://www.joinmda.org/mooresvillelockup09/scrisco

and make a contribution of any size. If everyone makes even a $5.00 donation.. that will all add up in the end!
Thank you for supporting me in this!

Your 100% tax-deductible donation will help MDA continue research into the cause and the possible cure of the 43 neuromuscular diseases they cover. Your support of the MDA Lock-Up will also help MDA provide medical equipment, clinic visits, support groups and a magical week of MDA Summer Camp for the families served by the Association in our local area.

Thank you again and hope you all have a good day!

15 Weeks Pregnant.. just 26ish more weeks to go!

So, what is going on with the baby this week? Here is what Whattoexpect.com says....

Your baby is as long as four and a half inches right now, and weighs a bit over two ounces. Hold a large navel orange in your hand — that's how big your little darlin' is.
Curious why your body is finally looking like it's pregnant? That's because your baby is growing bigger each week — he or she is as long as four and a half inches right now. Need a better visual (and a snack)? Hold a large navel orange in your hand — that's how big your little darlin' is at 15 weeks pregnant. (Now that you're done looking, peel that orange and eat it for a delicious two servings of vitamin C!).

So what keeps your baby busy all day? Mostly, your fetus is in rehearsals — practice, practice, practicing, and getting ready for that big debut. Babies practice breathing, sucking, and swallowing so that when they leave your comfy womb and move into your comfy house, they'll have the skills necessary to survive.

Fetal body movements continue to get practice this week, too. But because your baby weighs so little (a bit over two ounces), you won't feel the calisthenics going on inside your abdominal gym. But don't let that fool you. Your fetus is holding daily aerobics classes — kicking, curling toes, and moving those little arms and legs.

And with each passing week, your fetus is looking more and more like the baby you're picturing in your dreams. By now, the ears are positioned properly on the sides of the head (they used to be in the neck) and the eyes are moving from the side of the head to the front of the face — where they'll soon meet your loving gaze.

The Definition Of......

So what does it mean to "play the fetus card"?
To "play the fetus card" means I get to have what I want because I am having Ron's baby. I only play the fetus card with Ron so none of you have anything to worry about.
Here are some examples of when I play the fetus card
1. when i would rather stay at home under a comfy blanket than get all dressed up to go somewhere when i'm going to be tired within 45 minutes anyways.
2. when I don't want to get up from my seated postion to get a drink or a snack.
3. when I have a seriously cut-short workout at the gym
4. when I say something to Ron that sounds insane to him but perfectly normal to me
5. when bedtime creeps down to 8:30pm

I know I won't be able to play the fetus card forever, so I will try to get all I can out of it before it's cute-ness wears off or it becomes downright annoying.
If you feel that I have recently played the fetus card on you, please feel free to comment below.

Love ya'll!
